Barcelona, Spain - 10th February 2008 - Sony Ericsson today announced two high-performance additions to its popular Cyber-shotTM phone range with the launch of the C702 Cyber-shot and C902 Cyber-shot . The two phones, packed with the latest camera technology, make it effortless to take perfect pictures of those spontaneous moments - day or night, at a bar or the beach - and instantly share them with friends and family.
"The two new Cyber-shot phones that we have announced today share certain characteristics. Both phones place ease-of-use and best-in-class picture quality at the heart of their designs," said Sven Tott , Head of Imaging Marketing at Sony Ericsson. "Yet both appeal to different audiences. One is engineered to let you take more pictures in more places and the other is designed to look as stunning as the pictures it takes."

LG-KH1800

LG VOYAGER

If sublime style and profound performance are part of your mobile destiny, the new VOYAGER™ is just what you’ve been waiting for. The first handset with both interactive touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard, this one-of-a-kind wonder can also tune you in and turn you on to V CAST Mobile TV and full HTML Internet browsing. The VOYAGER™ will take you where you want to go with a music player, dual speakers for stereo sound, Bluetooth,® and a 2.0 megapixel camera & camcorder. For the ultimate mobile excursion, there is nothing like the VOYAGER.™

While visiting the LG booth at CES, I got to check out the three highlight phones from the company. Some of these phones have received some CES awards for Innovations, and they are something to talk about.
The Voyager, for example, is breaking new ground as the first handset with an interactive touchscreen and a full QWERTY keyboard. Not only that, it has a cool retractable antenna for V CAST, as well as full HTML internet browsing. It also has dual speakers, a 2.0 megapixel camera/camcorder, and is Bluetooth capable.

The Venus is another pretty little number with two screens with interactive touch navigation. It also has a music player, 2.0 megapixel camera, and a microSD. Like the Voyager, it is Bluetooth and V-Cast ready.

The Shine is unique with a metallic finish, and is available in silver, red, and black. The screen is viewable from all sides, and has the 2.0 megapixel camera and Bluetooth capability.

I think out of all the phones, I was most impressed by the Voyager, which is why I featured it in the photo. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being my next phone.
Both of these phones will be released soon to the general public. The Voyager will retail for about $299.99, and the Venus will be $199.99.
The first thing you should know about the LG Voyager is that it is the first phone on the market with a touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard. The touchscreen works just like the iPhone, but the Voyager has a vibrating touch system so the user has some tactile feedback.
The phone then opens for a second screen with the QWERTY keyboard. This comes in handy when you surf the Internet with the HTML browser, and you can even flip it to the touchscreen for some net-surfing with just your finger. Surfing the net on this gadget takes some getting used to, but it is worth it for the convenience.
Not only does the Voyager do Internet well, but it has an excellent 2.0 Megapixel camera with both video and still capability. The Voyager can also do Bluetooth as well as music.
Other features include the V CAST Mobile TV, and the Voyager has an extendable antenna for it. This service costs a little more in the subscription, as does the Navigator function.
I think the LG phone could easily make a splash in today’s market, and it is available now off the LG website from Verizon.

Mooon Concept Phone

Mobile phone manufacturers just love to pack their newest models of smartphones with all sorts of cool features. This concept Mooon (not a spelling error) smartphone has at least one unique feature that could easily become a new standard.

As you can see by the illustration to the left, the Mooon has a Bluetooth headset that can be detached from the phone’s body and then attached to your ear. This means the user can use a Bluetooth earpiece and not have to purchase one separately. I am assuming that the earpiece is calibrated to the Mooon phone straight from the box, so the user won’t have to go through the whole calibration rigmarole.
Oh, did I mention that the front of the phone is a touchscreen? Then again, it’s not like we haven’t seen that before, like on the iPhone and its many imitators.

Yeah, the detachable Bluetooth headset is the big selling point. Assuming this concept phone becomes reality, you can seriously brag that you have the first phone with “a detachable”. Hey, I’m already coming up with slang for it.
So if you’re one of the first with the Mooon, you can act prouder than those celebrities who first got the iPhone. In fact, you can Mooon those guys. Oh man, what a terrible joke. I’d better go before it gets worse.
